Pureway Ramadan Itikaf 2026

The Ḥikam (الحكم العطائية) of Ibn ʿAṭāʾ Allāh al-Iskandarī is one of the most illuminating works in Islamic spiritual literature. The book is a collection of roughly 264 aphorisms that distill the essence of spiritual purification, addressing core themes like tawakkul, sincerity, the dangers of self-admiration, the nature of divine decree, the proper etiquette of supplication, and the relationship between outward effort and inner surrender.
The Ḥikam’s beauty is that each aphorism packs layers of meaning into a short sentence or two to jolt the reader out of spiritual complacency. We will use the categorization outlined in the English translation by WhiteThread Press titled The Book of Aphorisms [Kitab al-Hikam with Ikmal Shiyam] to cover the deep insights woven throughout this book.
